395 CONCOURSE MINUTES FOR THE JULY 21, 2007 MEETING

Meeting opened at 1010 hours by President Martha Delgado at Taco Joes in Rialto

1.  ROLL CALL – Delegates were present from the following clubs: AVC, CNA, FWY, HVC, SBV, VIP, RIC, WFI & Y2K.  Clubs not represented were EAV, JVIC & WEF.  JVIC and RIC are no longer active clubs.

2.  MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETING – the minutes for the January meeting were read and approved.

3.  PROPOSALS FOR MEMBERSHIP - none

4.  FINANCIAL REPORT – Larry Landweer presented his Spring 2007 Race Series financial recap.  In spite of the trailer accident occurring just after the first OB race, the Concourse had a positive cash flow for the season.  Beginning cash January 1st was $24,862.57 and ending cash was $26,487.03 on June 30th. The checking account has been reconciled to the June bank statement.  The Concourse remains in good financial condition.

5.  REPORTS OF COMMITTEES – The trailer committee reported that the trailer will be ready for the YB season as soon as Leo Theunissen replaces a part on the goose neck.  Jorge Tomayo will see that the trailer is cleaned thoroughly before the first race.

6.  COMMUNICATIONS – CSRPO is putting together ads for their yearbook.  Ron Boyer made a motion, seconded by Leo, to again place a full page black and white ad at a cost of $175.  The motion passed.

Several members noted that the Concourse web site hasn’t been updated in months. Tim and Elaine Ross said they may be interested if Mike Byrd can’t do it any longer.  Martha will follow up with Mike and then talk with the volunteers if appropriate.

7.  UNFINISHED BUSINESS – none

8.  NEW BUSINESS –  Rollie Jacobs passed out diplomas to the top 16 finishers for Champion Flyer in 2007 OB’s.  Leonard Lee’s widowhood cock (Lee’s WC) team came in first place.  Rollie also noted that Leonard will likely come out first in the state as well in the 61 to 100 loft category.

Sam McClary resigned as Master of Arms and said RIC is no more.  His dispersal auction is scheduled for the Compton club house in November.  Thank you Sam, for your many years of service to the Concourse.

Members are dissatisfied with the new Trona, Darwin and Darwin start of each season.  Problems were sited with cell phone communication and the lack of services available at those stations compared to Hwy 395. Howard Wicks made a motion, seconded by Jorge, to go back to the Inyokern, Olancha and Lone Pine start as in past years.  The motion passed.

Rollie made a motion, seconded by Ron, to instead go to Inyokern, Olancha and Olancha again to keep closer to the original schedule but eliminate the double race of Mono/Mammoth.  The motion passed.

Ron made a motion, seconded by Joe Campobasso, to use Mono instead of Mammoth as the single station. The motion passed by hand vote.

Leonard would appreciate it if clubs would load their birds from the top down and left to right on the trailer.  This would be fair for all and help later clubs see where the empty holes are.  Guillermo Velasquez made a motion, seconded by George Proulx to do so.  The motion passed.

Steve Whitmer wants to make sure all loft coordinates are measured with WAAS equipment.  Rollie felt that such was the case.

ADJOURNMENT – meeting adjourned at 1210 hours.

Next meeting is to be the third Saturday in August at Taco Joes at 1749 So Riverside Ave, Rialto at 1000 hours.

Respectfully submitted by Larry Landweer, Secretary/Treasurer
